Medical Director

Frederick E. Kahn, M.D.

Dr. Kahn has over 30 years of experience in psychiatry, psychopharmacology, addiction medicine, and psychoanalysis. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in History, and received his M.D. at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kahn completed his psychiatric residency at Columbia University School of Medicine/St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, where he was Chief Resident and an attending physician. Dr. Kahn is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a member of the AMA and NJSAM (New Jersey Society of Addiction Medicine). He also is a certified psychoanalyst, having completed his training at the William Alanson White Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1989. Dr. Kahn has worked in variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospital, and inpatient rehabilitation settings. He received a DATA 2000 waiver for the use of Buprenorphine in treatment by SAMHSA in 2009. Dr. Kahn has practiced in New Jersey since 1990 and has been chosen as a Top Doctor in Bergen County by Bergen Magazine.

John Veliky, LCSW

John Veliky is a licensed clinical social worker who received his MSW from New York University in 1999 after completing undergraduate degrees at William Paterson College and State University of New York – FIT. He has worked with individuals, groups, and families in a variety of settings. Anxiety, relationship issues, grief, loss, anger, addictions, and depression are the areas of his expertise. His training and experience allow him to develop working relationships in a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.

Allegra Schorr

Ms. Schorr has over twenty-five years of experience in delivering high quality, value-oriented healthcare and substance use disorder treatment services. Ms. Schorr is an owner and Vice President of West Midtown Medical Group, an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), chemical dependence outpatient and Article 28 comprehensive primary care facility located in Midtown Manhattan. All three co-located and fully integrated programs meet the rigorous national accreditation standards of the Joint Commission. Through her efforts, West Midtown Medical Group became the first opioid treatment program to dispense Buprenorphine in an OTP setting in New York State. Ms. Schorr serves as President of the Coalition of Medication Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates (COMPA), New York State’s OTP/MAT provider association. Ms. Schorr represents New York State on the National Board of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD). Ms. Schorr is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and has a Masters of Science in Healthcare Management at Rutgers University-School of Health Professionals.
